Zberg makes Tour of Germany top ten
The Swiss cyclist, Markus Zberg, has come seventh in the overall rankings of the Tour of Germany. Alexander Vinokourov from Kazakhstan won the 1235-kilometres race from Hamburg to Stuttgart.
Vinokourov completed the race with an overall time of 30 hours and 57 minutes. Joining him on the podium in second place was the Spaniard, Aitor Garmendia, and Germany’s Rolf Aldag.
The eighth and final stage of the race was won by Germany’s Erik Zabel and his compatriot, Sven Teutenberg, came second. The Austrian, Gerrit Glomser, came third.
On the whole, Switzerland did not shine in the final placings as Alex Zuelle lagged behind at 48th place.
