Anna Aaron: Dogs In Spirit
Indie / Rock. A few years ago Sophie Hunger heralded a new era of confident, Swiss female singer-instrumentalists. 26-year-old vocalist Anna Aaron from German-speaking Basel is a further rising talent of that kind and her album Dogs In Spirit a real zinger. Unlike Hunger, Aaron has a more raucous timbre and underlays her fanciful, slightly sinister lyrics with rolling piano clusters. Above and beyond, her second record marks a cross-cultural collaboration, for she teamed up with musicians from the Lausanne scene in French-speaking Switzerland. Dogs In Spirit is unfiltered indie rock featuring catchy choral qualities at its best.
