Founded in 1956 by Wolfgang Schneiderhan and Rudolf Baumgartner, the Lucerne Festival Strings are today one of the Swiss orchestras with the most tours to their name. Their repertoire ranges from works for string ensemble to extended chamber orchestra, from the baroque to the contemporary.
