Chamber-jazz. Basel based pianist Oliver Tabeling can't deny his strong classical roots which shine trough whenever he plays jazz. The pensive style of this emerging pianist matches well his "art of the duo" recording Hippocampus Valley. As partner he chose Andy Scherrer, the Grand Old Man of saxofone in Switzerland. Indeed their collaboration resembles a dark crystal glinting in multi-faceted colours.
