150 years of Graubünden architecture

The eastern canton of Graubünden has a highly developed architectural culture. Time and again, its particular landscape has thrown up unique challenges – helping foster a local architectural discourse right up to the present day.

A comprehensive exhibition at the cantonal art museum in Chur highlights the architectural development of Graubünden over the past 150 years. What changes can be observed? Which building projects were the most important?

Since the 19th century, architecture and photography have played a central role in Graubünden, shaping the canton’s image. With this in mind, the exhibition helps re-evaluate an important part of this cultural history while conveying a piece of Graubünden’s self-image to the outside world.
