William White: Freedom
Soul / Folk. William White was born and raised on the musical Edenic Bahamas. But at age 19 he turned his back on the island nation and moved to Switzerland, his mother's home country. After a disillusioning starting period in the music scene, things have meanwhile smoothened out for this simpatico bard. Freedom, his second solo album, White recorded in his restored, 100-year-old circus caravan at his current residential community Frutigen in the Bernese Oberland. This sonic prose tells about self-made man White's lucky rise. Many quiet folk ballads mirror his times of struggle, whereas soulful rockers with a Carribean tinge spread an overall triumphant feel.
