Paraglider killed in Bernese Oberland

A paraglider has been killed near the resort of Grindelwald. The 48-year-old man died after his parachute failed to open.

Police said the man, who was a resident of canton Aargau, fell 150 metres to his death, after launching himself off a cliff. They said the parachute had malfunctioned because of poor wind conditions.

The incident occurred on Saturday near the “First” peak above the resort of Grindelwald.

No further details were released.
