Pedestrians in central Zurich dodge fake excreta, put out to draw attention to the fact that 2.5 billion people do not have access to a clean and safe lavatory and have to relieve themselves in public.

More than 3,000 children die every day in developing countries after drinking water contaminated by faeces, according to development NGO Helvetas, which organised the awareness-raising event on November 19, World Toilet Day.
