A Swiss company is giving anyone looking for a new watch, the chance to design and order their own over the Internet. Domino Watch, based in Grenchen, in canton Solothurn, opened its doors on Thursday as the world's first ever virtual watchmaker.

Company owner, Eric von Schulthess, said customers can choose from a range of faces, hands, straps and colours to design their personalised watch.

If you are planning to rush out and order a new watch today, you had better have a few friends who will appreciate the same design. Schulthess said there were over six million variations but as the minimum order would start off at ten, he expected the first customers to be mainly firms, institutions and clubs.

But Schulthess said there were long-term plans to sell individual customised watches.
