The 37-year-old keeper is one of several Swiss players active in England's top flight football.

Fulham FC have signed veteran Swiss goalkeeper Pascal Zuberbühler, on a one-year contract.

Zuberbühler will be the number-two keeper of the London club side. It is his second stint with an English club after a spell with West Bromwich in 2006.

Fulham, whose coach is Roy Hodgson - a former coach of the Swiss national squad - narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League last season.

Zuberbühler's contract with Swiss club Neuchâtel Xamax ran out last season. He made 51 appearances for the national squad before he retired after the Euro 2008 tournament in June.

Other Swiss active in England include Philippe Senderos and Valon Behrami at local rivals Arsenal and West Ham, as well as Philipp Degen who was signed on by Liverpool.
