More than 150 works on show at Lausanne’s Fondation de l’Hermitage were loaned by a variety of Swiss and European institutions, as well as numerous prestigious private collections. The thematic journey through 500 years of art history brings together names like Dürer, Monet, Hammershøi, Munch, Mondrian, Jawlensky, Matisse, Duchamp, Vallotton, Ernst, Bonnard, Klee, Picasso, Balthus, Rothko and more. Paintings, engravings, photography and video installations are featured.

The Fondation de l’Hermitage major summer exhibition is devoted to the Hahnloser Collection. Built up by Arthur Hahnloser and his wife Hedy Hahnloser-Bühler between 1905 and 1936 in Winterthur, the collection is the fruit of their encounters with artists like Ferdinand Hodler, Giovanni Giacometti, Félix Vallotton and Pierre Bonnard.
