A “laboratory” for creativity in Fribourg

Contemporary culture is on the agenda in the old city of Fribourg during the next two weeks, at its annual Belluard Bollwerk International.

The festival, named after the mediaeval fortress at which it is based, has a programme of theatre, cinema, dance, music and discussion as well as video and multimedia presentations.

Some 26 productions have been invited from countries throughout Europe.

Its organisers have stated their intention of making the festival “a laboratory for creativity and reflection” in all domains of art, culture and communication, with workshops open to the public.

This year, one of the main themes is “Stolen Ideas”, revolving around the issue of intellectual property.

Belluard Bollwerk International ends on July 15.
