Matthias Merki, born in Aarau, studies in Zug, Basel and at the Arizona State University (Master's degree in trumpet performance). Teaches in Switzerland. Heinz Rauch, born in Baden AG. Studies at the Swiss Jazz Scool in Berne. Studies in classical trumpet playing in Zurich, where he completed his studies with a Bachelor's degree in trumpet performance. Teaches in Switzerland. The ensemble 'La Partita' was founded in 1974. The ensemble endeavours to perform not only well-known works from the baroque and classical period but also rarely heard compositions.
