Sacred Vocal Music from 18th Century Switzerland swissmusic

The Schola Romana Lucernensis is a Lucerne ensemble for Gregorian chant comprising fifteen singers, male and female. They sing according to the tradition of the Einsiedeln monastery, and have been directed by Fr Roman Bannwart for more than 30 years. The instrumental trio comprises three well-known Swiss saxophonists who teach at the Lucerne School of Music. On the present recording, the trio offers improvisations and variations on the theme of 'Gaudium et Spes', as a musically independent partner of the Schola.
