Die Orgeln des Berner Münsters. The Organs in the Cathedral of Berne. Heinz Balli.

Heinz Balli. Bern. Catherdal Organs. swissmusic

Works by Michelangelo Rossi, Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, Dietrich Buxtehude, Johann Sebastian Bach, Felix Mendelssohn and Franz Liszt. Very rich source material on the history of the Berne Cathedral documents the existence of three instruments before the Reformation of 1528. The first organ in the Cathedral of Berne after the Reformation was built by Leonhard Gottlieb Leu in 1726. Many parts of that first instrument main case have been preserved, including the front pipes. Heinz Balli was the organist of the Cathedral in Berne from 1990-2006.
