Jordi's song, "In the Garden of My Soul", won five points from Austrian spectators, three each from Romania and France, two from Germany, and one point each from Slovenia and Latvia.

The contest title remains in the Baltic neighbourhood for another year after Latvia's Marie Naumova won the three-hour extravaganza in Tallinn, Estonia.

Estonia was the first former communist state ever to host the annual show, which is watched by as many as 300 million television viewers.

Naumova's entry, "I wanna", was a jazzed-up, Latin-tinged song.

"If I win, I will drink. I don't know what, but a lot," said Naumova, an established jazz singer with a law degree, before her performance.
