Federer reaches sixth straight Wimbledon final

Swiss world tennis number one Roger Federer has secured his place in this year's Wimbledon final.

Federer beat Russia’s Marat Safin 6-3, 7-6, 6-4 in the 102-minute semifinal at the All England Club on Friday.

The defending champion is trying to become the first man since 1886 to win Wimbledon six years in a row.

Federer has not dropped a set at this year’s tournament and has had a grass-court winning streak of 65 matches, and a Wimbledon winning streak of 40.

He will face either Rafael Nadal or Rainer Schuettler in Sunday’s final.
