"The origin of my Violin Concerto ' Hommage à Louis Soutter' goes back to a commission to write a piece for the 75th birthday of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande (OSR). I was already familiar with Soutter as a painter and knew his biography as well. And suddently the penny dropped: Louis Souter was the most brillant member this orchestra had ever had!"
