Ammann takes second place in Four Hills event
Swiss ski jumper Simon Ammann has taken second place in this season's Four Hills tournament behind Wolfgang Loitzl of Austria.
Ammann, who remains the overall World Cup leader in the ski jumping discipline, scored 284.4 points at the final event on Tuesday in the Austrian resort of Bischofshofen, well behind Loitzl’s 301.2.
Winner of the opening round in Germany’s Oberstdorf, Ammann was second on the day with jumps of 137.5 metres and 140.5 metres.
Ammann moves to 877 points in the World Cup standings.
“My form is good but I was missing the extra class I needed for the tournament,” the Swiss said.
“That was annoying, but I can still be pleased with second place which is my best tournament result.”
