Marc Forster and Brad Pitt to take on Zombies

A report says Brad Pitt has been cast to play the lead role in Marc Forster’s film adaptation of Max Brooks’ book World War Z.

Brooks told MTV News that Pitt is now “officially” going to star in the film about a zombie apocalypse, to be directed by Switzerland’s Forster.

Brad Pitt’s company Plan B Entertainment secured the rights to the film back in 2007 and is aiming at a summer 2012 release.

The novel recounts the stories of survivors of a worldwide apocalyptic war with zombies.

Forster’s previous films include Finding Neverland (2004) and Quantum of Solace (2008) - the latter making him the youngest director in the James Bond series’ history. and agencies
