Mörike-Vertonungen (CD Musique Suisses) swissmusic

The southern German poet Eduard F. Mörike (1804-75) was one of the most significant poets between Romanticism and Realism. The present CD comprises a selection of Mörike settings that have been unjustly forgotten, all by composers who were either Swiss, or had a close connection to Switzerland: Willy Burkhard, Felix Weingartner, Paul Müller-Zürich, Hermann Haller, Oskar Ulmer, Richard Flury, Hugo von Senger, Peter Mieg, Joseph Schlageter, Wilhelm Baumgartner, Lieni Wegmann, Werner Wehrli, Edward Staempfli.
