New website presented: A gateway to Switzerland

The Muba in Basel has also seen the presentation of a new multilingual, multimedia website devoted to Switzerland. swissinfo.org is a product of Swiss Radio International and the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation, and provides a gateway to Switzerland.

The Muba in Basel has also seen the presentation of a new multilingual, multimedia website devoted to Switzerland. swissinfo.org is a product of Swiss Radio International and the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRG SSR idée suisse), and provides a gateway to Switzerland.

Visitors to the Muba will be able to try out the new product at the stand of Swiss-German Television, SF DRS. There are also demonstrations of the WAP mobile service of swissinfo.org, and visitors will also be able to send video messages to friends and family around the world.

swissinfo.org provides news and information in eight languages, with text, radio and television programmes. Its database provides 6,500 links to other important Swiss sites, including the foreign ministry and the administration, the world of finance, and weather, travel and tourism news.

Since the site was started, it has been visited regularly by Internet surfers in 121 countries, particularly the United States, Europe, South America and Japan.
