Swiss project marries TC Boyle text with music

A new CD just released combines readings of the American cult author TC Boyle with music performed by some of Switzerland's best known musicians.

A new CD just released combines readings of the American cult author TC Boyle with music performed by some of Switzerland's best known musicians, such as Hank Shizzoe and Endo Anaconda.

The CD, called "Hinter Deiner Schulter Geht Die Welt Hinunter," is project of Erich Facon, a producer and broadcaster working for Swiss radio.

On the CD, TC Boyle reads from his short story "Hellhound On My Trail," and Shizzoe accompanies the text with bluesy bottleneck guitar playing.

"He is a writer who describes the world as it is today -- a crazy and often brutal world," Facon says of TC Boyle. "
