The Tell Music of Töbi Tobler. Scenic performances of the legend of William Tell are proven to have taken place in Altdorf in canton Uri since 1512. In 1823, the citizens of Uri saw Schiller's play of 1804 for the first time. The new production of 2008 was under the artistic direction of the renowned German director Volker Hesse. Töbi Tobler was commissioned to write the incidental music - a well-known Swiss dulcimer player with experience too of vocal music, jazz and experimental music.
