Credit Suisse Names Williams, Agarwal Heads of EMEA Markets Unit

Nov. 18 (Bloomberg) — Credit Suisse Group AG, Switzerland’s second-biggest bank, promoted Nick Williams and Sandeep Agarwal to jointly manage the global markets solutions group in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Williams and Agarwal will also keep their current responsibilities as the heads of equity and debt capital markets, respectively, in the region, Marisa Drew and Tim Bock, co-heads of the group worldwide, said in a memo to employees today. A Credit Suisse spokeswoman confirmed the contents.

The unit encompasses financing products the Zurich-based bank offers to investment banking clients. Williams and Agarwal will be responsible for coordinating marketing efforts across different products.

Williams has been in his current role since 2009. He joined Credit Suisse First Boston, as the investment bank was known at the time, in 1993.

Agarwal, who joined CSFB in 2001, led the debt capital markets business with financial institutions before assuming his current role in 2012.
