Reinsurance Group Takes on $2.7 Billion of Swiss Re Liabilities

Oct. 21 (Bloomberg) — Reinsurance Group of America Inc., the reinsurer that was spun off from MetLife Inc., agreed to buy Aurora National Life Assurance Co. from Swiss Re Ltd.

Aurora, which is part of Swiss Re’s U.S. business, has about 82,000 policies in force with statutory liabilities of $2.7 billion, Chesterfield, Missouri-based RGA said today in a statement.
