Could it happen in Switzerland?
Some 200 German poultry farms are being investigated after it was found that mislabelled organic and free-range eggs actually came from battery hens in cramped cages. The Swiss are now looking more closely at their own organic poultry farms.
The fraud has damaged the image of “bio” produce, which is promoted as being natural and produced with animal welfare in mind.
