Migros thinks big with Christmas choir idea
Swiss retailer Migros has invited people around the country to try to form the largest virtual Christmas choir in Switzerland.
Those taking part need a computer with webcam, microphone and internet connection to sing Silent Night against playback music, which can then be loaded on to a star which will appear on the Weihnachtschor website marked on the right.
Those who don’t have a computer can also take part in so-called sing-boxes that will be located in 50 Migros stores.
The idea is to create mini-choirs of up to four people. The sound of the Christmas carol entry on the star will be added to all the other entries loaded on stars to form an increasing number of voices in the choir.
There will be a prize for the 50 best choirs, which come up with a rendering of the Austrian carol that is either amusing or original.
