A street in Someo in Valle Maggia was named after the migrants who made their fortune in California and returned to Ticino to build palatial houses known as "palazzi". Some also built ornate mausoleums in a small cemetery in the village. (swissinfo, Luigi Jorio and Dale Bechtel)
