Photographs taken from "behind the mirror"
The Ethnography Museum in Geneva is staging an exhibition of pictures by the widely-travelled freelance Swiss photographer, Jean Mohr.
Entitled "Behind the Mirror" it includes not only photographs taken by him while working with humanitarian organisations around the world, but also some on show to the public for the first time -images he describes with a trace or irony as "my Sunday photographs".
Many of Mohr's photographs have been published in books on which he has collaborated with such authors as Edward Said and John Berger.
One of them, Said's "After the Last Sky" (Columbia University Press) received glowing press reviews for its portraits by both writer and photographer of Palestinian people.
The Geneva exhibition includes these, as well as pictures he took while travelling with John Berger around such countries as Romania, Pakistan, the Philippines, Algeria and Nicaragua.
