Scouts pitch tents for summer camp
The Swiss scout movement launched its two-week summer camp on Monday, hoping to attract new members.
More than 25,000 children, guides and volunteers from across the country as well as foreign guests are taking part in the event – the first of its kind in 14 years.
On offer are workshops, sports competitions and trips in a mountain region between Zurich and Chur in eastern Switzerland.
The organisers expect up to 50,000 visitors to the eight camps. An open day on Sunday is expected to be particularly busy.
The scout movement in Switzerland has dwindled over the past 15 years and now has about 45,000 members.
