Amish Songs (CD Zytglogge) swissmusic

The conservative Amish in Berne, Indiana, still speak today Bernese German, and also sing some folk songs in Bernese, as well as in American English. The Old Order Amish do not allow any sound recordings. Originally of Amish faith, Fannie Klockner-Schwartz was willing to record her traditional repertoire of yodel songs, full of life, and to report in American Bernese German about the everyday life of the Amish.
