What kind of music was played in Appenzell, in the German-speaking part of Switzerland, before the folk revival movement of the nineteenth century? Alpbarock was formed with the aim of attempting to answer that question. Songs and tunes: Dr Frutt Bättruef (trad.), Danse d'Appenzell (1818), Lied des jungen Grafen (1782), Dursli und Bäbeli (1818), Emmenthaler Hochzeittanz (trad.), Guggisbergerlied (trad.), Bergamasca (1671), De roth Schwyzer (noted 1903) a.o.
