World number one Martina Hingis has eased her way into the semi-finals of the Swisscom Challenge tennis tournament in Zurich.
The Swiss player took just 47 minutes to dispose of her 55th ranked opponent on Thursday, Russia's Anastasia Myskina.
"I felt in control and I could feel she had a lot of respect," said Hingis after her 6-0. 6-4 victory.
"When you see people like that," she continued, "You feel the match is already won."
Myskina, who had toppled the other home favourite, Patty Schnyder, in the opening round, appeared bewildered from the very start of the match.
She compounded her poor performance by accumulating 12 unforced errors. Despite picking up her game in the second set, Myskina was no match for the Swiss giant.
The difference in ranking was evident in the final moments, with Hingis taking the Russian's serve at 4-4 and then easily wrapping up the match.
Hingis is looking for a first career tournament title on home soil, having won all her 32 titles to date outside Switzerland.
