Inside Syria

It is now over a year since the start of the Syrian anti-government uprising. From the outset the protestors' quest for freedom and greater democracy was met with systematic repression. Now the country is on the brink of full scale civil war.

German photojournalist Timo Vogt has been inside the country twice over the past few months, joining a group of rebels who entered Syria from Turkey. His images bear witness to the ongoing conflict which reached its bloodiest point so far in the massacre in Houla on May 25-26. (All images: Timo Vogt/Randbild)
