VIS Acquires Zurich Firm Advanta Capital Amid Swiss Relocation
Oct. 13 (Bloomberg) — VIS Essential Investments, an investment firm that’s relocating to Switzerland from Brazil, said it acquired Advanta Capital, a private equity and corporate finance business based in Zurich.
Marcel Kaufmann and Christoph Kuenzle, co-founders of Advanta Capital, became partners of VIS on Oct. 10, VIS said in an e-mailed statement today. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
“The acquisition of Advanta Capital will allow us to even better serve our growing institutional investor base in Europe,” Benjamin Ergas, co-founder of VIS, said in the statement.
VIS, established as a partnership in Sao Paulo in 2011, said in September it plans to register as VIS Essential Investments SA in the Swiss canton Vaud as early as this month to tap educational institutions and find clients among the wealthy families of the Lake Geneva region. VIS will open a Geneva office for its asset-management arm and plans to hire some staff locally, the company said last month.
