
The government revamps system to deal with flood of asylum requests
Over the past few years the Federal Migration Office has been restructured several times, with the aim of improving the efficiency of the application process for asylum seekers. But the authorities now say the reforms may have actually lengthened waiting times. With the political turmoil in North Africa drawing a new wave of asylum seekers to Switzerland, the Federal Migration Office is once again undergoing a reorganisation to try to cope with the situation.
