Geneva airport prospers
Geneva airport is booming, with a record six per cent increase in passengers in 2012. Over the past six years, the number of passengers has increased by 70 per cent, and the figure is expected to double again by 2025.
Low-cost airlines are by and large responsible for the higher figures, with Easyjet taking the lead. Zurich airport, the country’s biggest and most important flight hub, has on the other hand not cashed in on cheaper carriers, but is still making a profit. (RTS/swissinfo.ch)
