
New device helps Zurich airport identify imported parasites
Hundreds of worms, fungi and insect species are threatening to invade Switzerland’s ecosystem. To prevent this, fruit and vegetable deliveries are kept under quarantine, until parasites can be ruled out. The procedure can take a couple of days – too long for perishable products.
