Paralympian breaks world record

Grueter now has a new world record to add to her Sydney gold medal. Swiss Paralympic Committee

Switzerland's Ursina Grueter has set a new world record in the 100 metres wheelchair.

The 40-year-old from Bern posted a time of 21.58 seconds during a race in the Swiss village of Ibach. Grueter’s time marked an improvement of two hundredths of a second on her own previous best.

The Swiss athlete is a reigning Paralympic champion over 100 metres, after winning in the T52 category during the 2000 Sydney Games.
