Switzerland wins second match in a row
The Swiss national hockey team has won its second match of the Deutschland Cup on Saturday, defeating Canada 4-2.
This is the second time in four days the Swiss team have left the ice the winners.
Switzerland had a head start with André Roethli and Marc Reichert scoring two goals within 23 seconds.
“The two early goals brought us to victory,” Swiss national team coach, Ralph Krueger, said.
Mark Streit scored the decisive goal seven minutes before the final whistle, achieving a 3-2 score for Switzerland.
Patric Della Rossa managed to score the final goal 24 seconds before the end of the match.
Krueger thinks today’s performance was more impressive than during Friday’s penalty shoot-out against Slovakia.
Switzerland will face the German team on Sunday, which defeated Canada 3-2 on Friday.
If Switzerland wins their third match in a row, it will be the first time for the Swiss team to win the Deutschland Cup.
Switzerland plays two more friendly games against Slovakia in the United States, before the start of the Olympic Games.
