The two Sion players sent off in the last minutes of the match, Joel Magnin (bad foul) and Zlatomir Zagorcic (unsporting behaviour) were suspended for two and three matches respectively.

Two Lugano players, Stéphane Grichting and Bertrand Fayolle, were both suspended for four games after television footage showed them involved in scuffles following Magnin's red card.

League leaders Lugano lost the game 3-2 despite taking a two-goal lead.
