Schnyder through first round of Thailand Open
Switzerland's Patty Schnyder has defeated France's Emilie Loit at the $110,000 Thailand Open WTA tennis tournament in Pattaya.
The Swiss number seven player won the match in straight sets 7-5, 6-1. She goes on to face Denmark’s Eva Dyrberg for the first time.
The match is expected to be within Schnyder’s reach, as her opponent is 141 in the WTA rankings – 107 places lower than the Swiss player.
