Swiss cyclists miss out in Zurich

The Swiss pairing of Bruno Risi and Kurt Betschart has failed to win the Zurich six-day cycling race, coming in third - one lap behind the winners.
Victory went to the reigning Olympic champion Scott McGrory and his Belgian teammate, Matthew Gilmore. Denmark’s Jimmi Madsen and Germany’s Andreas Beikirch finished second.
During the six-day race, cyclists compete on an indoor track over six successive evenings, racing in teams of two. One rider needs to be in the race at any one time.
The cyclist who is not racing, circles slowly at the top of the track and waits for his partner to bring him into the race by tagging him.
The race is won by gaining points in the sprints that are held every 20 laps and by gaining laps on other riders.
