Zug increase Chur misery

Chur goalkeeper Tobias Stephan sees the first of four goals flash past him Keystone

Zug ice hockey club have continued their impressive season on the road, beating bottom side Chur 4-1 away.

In front of just 1,835 supporters, Chur took a surprise lead through Roger Rieder after just 63 seconds, but goals from Frédéric Rothen, Chris Tancill, Paul DiPietro and Joel Savage were more than enough to bring Zug their sixth away win of the season

The result has not radically altered the league standings with Zug remaining in sixth place. The two points acquired have enabled the team from central Switzerland to draw level with third-placed Bern, fourth-placed Lugano and fifth-placed Fribourg, all of whom are currently on 19 points.

Chur remain firmly rooted to the foot of the league with just two wins to show for their efforts this season.
