What’s being discussed at the summit?
The WSIS has three goals:
To ensure access for everyone to information and communication technologies (ICTs).
To use ICTs to help promote the aims of the Millennium Declaration – a document adopted by the UN to combat poverty, illness, lack of education, gender inequality and environmental degradation, between now and 2015.
To ensure a secure ICT infrastructure and the protection of privacy.
