Swiss could save money on mobile phone charges
Mobile telephone users in Switzerland could save a total of almost SFr3 billion ($2.69 billion) a year if they chose the cheapest solution, a poll has found.
The survey of about 5,000 people, carried out by the Comparis research group, said the potential saving was SFr2.8 billion, almost twice that of the previous year.
Comparis, which is based in Zurich, explained that 90 per cent of users could save money by opting for pre-paid services, which had come down in cost, or for cheaper price plans.
The poll found that most people were satisfied with their chosen telephone operator and were not inclined to change to a competitor.
Among the issues that caused concern in terms of satisfaction among those questioned were hotline services, although the rating had improved over the previous year, Comparis said.
