Blair to advise Zurich Financial Services
Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair is to advise the Swiss insurance company, Zurich Financial Services, on the international political environment.
Zurich announced on Monday that Blair would work with the company in particular on a climate initiative it announced last week.
This is aimed at researching global warming and developing insurance products to help mitigate its effect.
“There is a consensus now that the challenge of climate change is real, and what we need now are the policy solutions to turn that concern into action,” Blair said.
Blair, who was prime minister from 1997 to 2007, signed a deal earlier this month to act as an adviser to New York international investment bank JP Morgan Chase.
