Ott and her team on Saturday lost 5:7 to Andrea Schöpp, a seven-time European champion, to take silver.

Switzerland came close, throwing the final stone in the final end. But it slid too long.

The teams had been tied 3:3 by the fourth end and Ott and her team of Carmen Küng, Carmen Schäfer and Janine Greiner appeared to have things under control.

But the Germans stole two stones for a 5:3 advantage, which the Swiss did not recover from.

Ott is a two-time European champion (1996 and 2008) and now has ten medals at major championships.
