Day receives two new key orders

The Basel-based software company Day has announced it has landed two new important intranet orders.

In a communiqué, Day said it would be creating intranet solutions for the Swiss Ministry of Defence, Protection of the Population and Sport (DDPS), and for the Extratel company which is Switzerland's largest outsourcing call centre.

Both projects will use Communiqué 2, the software developed by Day for the management of complex websites.

Day said the Defence Ministry had decided to use its software for the implementation of an intranet platform in the area of personal development.

"This new approach will provide information to all 12,000 employees in accordance with individual needs. The new intranet will also greatly simplify and speed up business processes within the existing network of experts," the statement said.

The intranet project for Extratel involves the implementation of an automatic archiving system for in-house news.

Founded in 1993 in Basel, Day now has branches in Germany, Britain, the United States and Singapore. It is aiming for sales growth of about 300 per cent this year (1999 revenues: SFr7.5 million).
